According to the British television channel ITV, Jolie is leaning on her partner, actor Brad Pitt, for support after her mother’s passing.
Marcheline Bertrand, 56, who was also an actress, died at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California following a seven year battle with cancer.
Jolie and Pitt, both stars of the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and James Haven, Jolie’s brother, were with Bertrand when she passed.
For the past five years, Jolie, 31, has not spoken to her father, actor Jon Voight, 68.
