Garbage to Return to the Studio

The band Garbage is ready to get back into the recording studio in February.

Although the group’s status has been uncertain since the fall of 2005, drummer Butch Vig has told MTV that they are preparing to start recording a new disc.  "We’re recording a couple new songs at the end of February," drummer Butch Vig revealed recently. "I think everyone’s excited about getting back in a room and playing some music together."

The new songs from Garbage will be part of a compilation CD that should be released later this year.

Vig added, "There was originally talk about doing a B-side and remix CD as well. I’m not sure what we’ll do, but we have a lot of B-sides and remixes over the years, so it would be cool to see that come out in a proper package for our hard-core fans."

Garbage will also be performing together for the first time in over a year.  On January 31, they will participate in a benefit concert to help a friend who is suffering from breast cancer.
