According to the website Femalefirst, Anderson wants to help the planet and all of its inhabitents for the new year.
The star of the former television series Baywatch explained, "I have plenty of options but most importantly I really want to get more involved in environmental and human issues around the world."
In 2005, the 39 year-old actress was the face of the cosmetics campaign for M.A.C., which was raising money for victims of AIDS.
The star has also worked along with the animal rights organization PETA. Anderson has also protested outside of several furriers.
Anderson concluded that her charity and humanitarian work give her the most satisfaction in life.
