According to the Associated Press, Jolie was in Cambodia last Tuesday without announcing her visit. The star of the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, among others, was taking a break from her conservation work to visit the country.
The actress toured the Pailin region in the north west of Cambodia. Jolie wants to preserve the forest, and has promised to donate 1.3 million dollars over the course of the next five years.
Kong Duong, the director of the Pailin information office, confirmed that the star and her team arrived in two helicopters. Jolie is an ambassador for the United Nations. Her adopted son, Maddox, 5, was adopted from Cambodia.
