According to the website IOL, Spears may be sued by the same publication that she filed charges against in the past. Spears and her husband brought charges against The Sunday Independent for reporting that their marriage was in trouble.
Earlier this year, an interview with 24 year-old Spears was printed in the paper, and suggested that the star’s marriage was in trouble. Spears furiously took legal action against the publication, and the paper spent a considerable amount of money defending their case.
Now that Spears has filed for divorce, The Sunday Independent is claiming fraud on the part of Spears. Simon McAleese, a lawyer for the publication, explained, "She’s trying to get money. It was plainly obvious that her marriage was on the rocks when the interview took place. She is a Hollywood airhead. We’re fed up. It’s a shame we’re dealing with ludicrous drivel like this as it can be costly."
