Seven Actors Sign on For Jane Austen Book Club

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Maria Bello, Hugh Dancy, Emily Blunt, Amy Brenneman, Maggie Grace, Jimmy Smits and Kevin Zegers have all joined the cast of the project.  The full-length feature film was adapted from the book by Karen Joy Fowler.  Mockingbird Pictures will produce and Sony Pictures Classics will distribute the film.

The story follows a group of Californians who join a book club to discuss the works of author Jane Austen.  After several meetings, the group begins discussing their personal and marriage problems.

Maria Bello will play Jocelyn, a woman who has never been married, who is the best friend of Julia (Brenneman).  Julia’s long-term marriage recently ended.

Filming for The Jane Austen Book Club begins this week in Los Angeles.
