Jimi Hendrix At the Centre of Controversy

The family of the late Jimi Hendrix plans to file a lawsuit regarding the sale of his songs.

According to a company owned by the guitarist’s family, they are the rightful owners to the songs by Hendrix, including Purple Haze and Voodoo Chile.

The songs were sold Thursday as part of the estate of the late Michael Jeffery, Hendrix’s former manager, who died in 1973.

According to the family business, Experience Hendrix, they hold all of the rights to the songs and recordings of the musician.

Jimi Hendrix continues to sell about 600,000 albums each year world wide.
