According to Britain’s ITV, Madonna has added a son to her family. The Hung Up singer was able to choose from 12 orphans.
Madonna supports the charity organisation Raising Malawi, which brings aid to children in the African region who have lost their parents to AIDS. Adriana Michiela, a government representative, explained, "She asked us to identify boys only, which we have done after visiting four orphanages."
According to Malawi law, anyone adopting a child must stay in that country for 18 months before leaving. Because the pop star is not able to stay for that length of time, it is believed that the baby boy will stay in the orphanage that Madonna has opened in the region.
Liz Rosenberg, a spokesperson for Madonna, has not confirmed the news. Madonna is married to director Guy Ritchie. She is already the mother of two children, Lourdes, 9, and Rocco, 5.
