According to People magazine, the delivery took place in a New York hospital. Actor Peter Sarsgaard is the father of the little girl, who has been named Ramona. Amanda Silverman, a spokesperson for the 28 year-old actress, said, "Everyone is healthy and happy."
Gyllenhaal, who starred in the films Secretary and Donnie Darko, among others, was spotted in an airport in Cancun, Mexico last month. A witness said, "She looked really happy. Little kids would run by and she would smile and giggle. I thought, either she’s the nicest person in the world or she has major baby lust!"
Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard have been dating for four years. He starred in the film In God’s Hands, a Steven Soderbergh project with a small budget, that was never released in theatres.
