According to People magazine, Brown talked about the end of his marriage to singer Whitney Houston, saying, "I’m really saddened by the whole situation."
Brown, 39, spoke to the magazine via the telephone from Boston, where he was celebrating the 17th birthday of his eldest daughter, Laprincia. A source explained that the artist seemed to be in a good mood.
The celebrity couple have been married for fourteen years. Whitney Houston filed legal papers on September 8, asking for custody of Bobbi Kristina, 13, and offering visitation rights to Brown. The case is expected to be heard in October.
A representative for Houston said, "We’re saying she filed for divorce because that is her intent."
