In an interview with Empire magazine, which was celebrating the 25th birthday of Raiders of the Lost Arc (1981), director George Lucas answered several questions about the Indiana Jones franchise, and the possibility of a fourth film.
“We’re basically going to do ‘The Phantom Menace’”, says Lucas. “People’s expectations are way higher than you can deliver. You could just get killed for the whole thing…We would do it for fun and just take the hit with the critics and the fans…But nobody wants to get into it unless they are really happy with it."
The temporary title for the new project is Indiana Jones and the Ravaged Times. The film will be produced by Steven Spielberg and is expected to start in 2008.
