The Smashing Pumpkins Return to the Studio

The rock group The Smashing Pumpkins are finally returning to the recording studio to work on a new disc.

In a message published on the band’s web site, the group announced that they are back in the studio.  The group, which is led by singer Billy Corgan, plans to release their first CD in seven years.  The message also reported that former Queen producer, Roy Thomas Baker, will be working with the band.

Some original members of The Smashing Pumpkins have left the band, and it is unknown who will be joining Corgan on the album.

In June, 2005, Billy Corgan placed a full-page ad in the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times stating that he would rebuild the band.
