The project, which is being executive produced by Peter Jackson, will be lead by an unknown director.
20th Century Fox has announced that Neill Blomkamp of South Africa will direct the film. Blomkamp is best-known for his animation work on television’s Stargate SG-1 and Smallville, although he has never directed. The 27 year-old hopes to use his special effects talents for the project.
Halo, which will open in the summer of 2008, is being filmed in New Zealand.
