This time, it is not Madonna’s voice that won her the honours but one of her videos, Like a Prayer, which was found one of the most amazing videos of all times by TV network MTV. At age 47, the queen of pop, in the music scene since 1982, is still touring and beats videoclips Baby One More Time by Britney Spears and the invincible Thriller by Michael Jackson.
The participants had to chose the videoclip that "broke the rules" in order to select the top 10. This chart will be a prelude to the Top 100 that MTV will air on August 1st 2006 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Madonna’s success shifted two of her other videos on the Top 10, Ray of Light (1998) in 4th place and Vogue (1988) in 5th place.
The MTV network mentionned how the Vatican had even condemned Madonna’s use of burning crosses and blood-crying statues seducing a black Jesus.
