Two days before the British Open, the oldest golf tournament in the world, George Clooney, who starred in The Perfect Storm (2000) was seen in the traditional Merseyside Ship Inn, in England. Apparently, he had a few drinks.
“I didn’t notice him until somebody pointed him out, because we were quite busy," explains Geoff Horrocks, a Ship Inn employee. "He sat out the front of the pub and the staff who served him said he was very pleasant. The old English pubs are very popular with Americans.”
A few Cheshire and Wirral residents had heard helicopters in the past few days, with very influential golfers and stars on board. Even paparazzi are everywhere, taking over the Liverpool area, surrounding mainly high class hotels.
George Clooney, 45, earns about 350,000 dollars US per year, or 120,000 small bottles of scotch.
