LeAnn Rimes Undergoes Surgery

Singer LeAnn Rimes underwent surgery today for an infection in her leg.

The How Do I Live singer was forced to cancel three concerts in order to have the operation.  Her spokesperson, Diana Baron, said that the 23 year-old country singer had suffered a tissue tear in her leg.  She explained, "It’s a minor surgery, but because of the infection it was urgent that she takes care of it right away."

LeAnn Rimes was to perform in Hamptom Beach, New Hampshire, and then in Niagara Falls, Canada for two shows.  The three cancelled shows are part of her This Woman tour.

Rimes is a two-time Grammy winner, earning both Best New Artist and Best Female Vocal Performance in 1996.
