Nicolas Cage’s Generousity

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage has given $2 million to Amnesty International.

The star of the films Adaptation, National Treasure and Face/Off, among others, gave the money to the charity to help former child soldiers.  The charity helps children who have been involved in wars to be rehabilitated, with medications and pschological help so that they can re-enter their normal lives.

According to Amnesty International, 300,000 children under the age of 7 have carried weapons in war in various conflicts around the world.

Nicolas Cage has been involved with the charity for two years.  Cage said, "Then imagine a warlord dropping a gun into his hand and forcing him to kill someone. He’s eight years old. He hasn’t kissed a girl yet or fallen in love, but he’s killed a man. What does that do to a child’s mind?"

He added, "Sounds like a nightmare? It’s reality for some families."
