The film will be directed by Peter Hedges, and was written by Pierce Gardner.
In the film, which begins shooting in October, Carrell will play a widower with three daughters who writes a parents column in the local paper. His strict rules for his children and himself will be put to the test when he falls in love with a woman with a son. Binoche will play Carrell’s love interest and Dane Cook will play her son.
Binoche, who recently starred in Cache, has just finished filming Breaking and Entering for Weinstein Pictures.
