The singer has joined the cast of Blueberry Nights under the direction of Hong Kong filmmaker, Wong Kar-wai.
It will be the first English language film for the director, whose work has been recognized by the Cannes Film Festival.
Jones earned eight Grammy Awards in 2003 with her debut album, Come Away With Me.
