Production will begin in the next few weeks, when Rodriguez takes his turn directing the portion of the film to be shot in his home town, Austin, Texas. The Rodriguez segment, entitled "Planet Terror", will be a zombie story, while Taratino’s segment, "Death Proof" will be about a slasher. The cast has not yet been named.
The two directors will each have separate trailers for their portions of the film. The studio hopes to release Grind on September 22.
