Michael Jackson Writes A Song for the Victims

American singer Michael Jackson has written a song for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

A representative for the artist confirmed the news Tuesday.  She said that the song, entitled From the Bottom of My Heart, will be recorded with other artists and sold to raise money for the victims.

The singer commented on the recent tragedy, "It pains me to watch the human suffering taking place in the Gulf region of my country."

Jackson is now living in the Middle East since his sexual molestation trial ended in the United States.  The singer’s rep also stated that Jackson will return to the US to record his song.

It’s not the first time that Jackson has come to the aid of those in need.  In 1985, he wrote a song with Lionel Richie, which raised money for the hungry in Africa.  That song was the well-known We Are the World.
