The 30 year old Hollywood star, that owns a residence in the province Battambang, adopted a Cambodian orphan, Maddox, a few years ago.
The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, had proposed obtaining her citizenship last year to the actress. The actress was honoured by this request.
For the government, it is a way of thanking the actress who gave 5 million dollars to build a park in close proximity to her residence.
