Smashing Pumpkins Makes a Comeback

The American group Smashing Pumpkins announces a return in the near future.

Billy Corgan, lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins got a lot of media attention today in the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune.

Corgan explained his plans to change the group after a five year absence.  "For a year now, I have walked around with a secret, a secret I chose to keep, but now I want you to be among the first to know that I have made plans to renew and revive the Smashing Pumpkins. I want my band back, and my songs, and my dreams. "

Corgan did not mention whether or not the other three original band members (James Iha, D’Arcy Wretzky and Jimmy Chamberlin) would be coming back.

In their eleven year career, the Smashing Pumpkins released five albums, and won two Grammy Awards.
