Langella will play Perry White in the film Superman Returns. The 65 year-old actor is replacing Hugh Laurie who was originally cast, but backed out due to scheduling conflicts.
Laurie hadn’t yet shot his scenes for the film, which has been in production since March 21 in Australia.
Langella will play White, the editor of the newspaper, The Daily Planet, where Superman’s alter-ego, Clark Kent works.
