Inspired by the book written by Philip K. Dick, A Scanner Darkly, from Warner Independent Pictures will be released in limited theatres September 16, 2005.
In the future in which America is caught in a battle with the drug culture, the secret agent Fred, (Keanu Reeves) is an undercover cop who’s hooked on a drug that gives him a split personality. Fred, is also Bob, a well-known drug dealer. Fred develops a plan with his fellow police officers, to capture Bob and close down his drug operation.
Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey, Jr., Woody Harrelson, and Rory Cochran also play roles in this action film, shot live, and then converted to animation by Linklater.
