The two stars of American cinema, who were very successful with The Aviator and Gangs of New York, are presently discussing a remake of the 1948 Japanese film.
In its original version, the film tells of a young gangster and an alcoholic doctor that live in a somber village in Japan after the war.
This new project may be in addition to the movie The Departed, that they will begin filming in April. Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson will also be part of this movie.
