Juraj Slafkovsky: “I don’t care what other people say and think”.

There’s a major difference between guys like Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield and Alex Newhook and guys like Kirby Dach, Juraj Slafkovsky and Joshua Roy, for example.

Which is it? The first three have played in the Stanley Cup Final, while the others have little or no NHL playoff experience.

As a result, the first three can’t wait to taste it again, but the others (I could have added the names of many of the youngsters) also want the chance to go there.

Of the lot, Slaf is particularly eager. He seems to thrive on victory… but more importantly, he doesn’t seem to accept defeat. There’s a big difference between the two.

Slaf knows he’s not perfect yet, and the same goes for his club. But even if he doesn’t like losing, he understands why the club is where it is: to get back to the final one day.

And to be a favorite this time.

That’s why he bought the plan, and why right now he doesn’t give a damn about the comments of people who didn’t buy the plan like he did. That’s what we see in a text on the NHL website.

We’re aiming to be good in a few years and to stay after that. That’s our main goal.

Honestly, I don’t care what other people say and think. – Juraj Slafkovsky

The player also says he doesn’t care about points on a personal level, as he simply wants to help his team win hockey games. Winning is more important than anything else.

And it’s not as if his 50 points at age 19 weren’t enough, let’s face it.

Martin St-Louis, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton must be happy to hear that. After all, it means he’s bought into the team’s plan to build a dynasty, in an ideal world.

And that’s going to involve the Slovak.

In bursts

– He deserves it.

– Five-game suspension for calling an opponent a pussy.

– Jordan Staal and his importance to Raleigh. [BPM Sports]

– Good question.

– Well done from the Oilers.
