When you think of Jean-Charles Lajoie, you think of the sports presenter. He is notably at the helm of the JiC show on TVA Sports.
This summer, he’ll be recording a cooking show (Dans le feu de l’action) linked to BBQs and sports.
Guillaume Picard of Le Journal de Montréal reports.

Basically, the concept is as follows: professional athletes will come and cook on JiC’s BBQ, and discussions will ensue. In addition, chefs will help the athletes improve their recipes.
No word yet on which athletes will appear on set, but we do know that Charles-Antoine Crête, Martin Juneau, Normand Laprise, Louis-François Marcotte and Martin Picard will be the chefs for all 10 episodes.
All will be recorded at Lajoie’s home in Shefford, in the Eastern Townships. The host has built a place to record projects, and this will be the first TV show shot on location.
The host assures us that the BBQ will be in the spotlight.

There’s going to be a lot of personalities, and the BBQ is definitely going to be the star of the show.
I’ve designed it and I’m having it done, so we’ll be completely elsewhere. – Jean-Charles Lajoie
No word yet on which athletes will be competing. We do know, however, that the chefs all love sport, which means they’ll no doubt have something to say about it.
However, the Journal de Montréal article mentions field hockey players, footballers, boxers and mixed martial artists. But it’s safe to assume that some of the athletes who have appeared on his TVA Sports TV show will be invited to his cooking show.
The show will be taped this summer, but will air on Zeste in 2025.
It should also be noted that JiC doesn’t necessarily want this to be a one-season show, and is starting to think about a game plan to have at least one female chef for other seasons.
