Warner Bros. has finally revealed the first trailer for its live-action film A Minecraft Movie, a project that has been in development for almost ten years.
Initial reactions, which find the trailer both entertaining and slightly bizarre, hint at the film’s potential success, but not without some controversy!

Fans of this popular video game, launched in 2009, will finally be able to discover this block universe in live-action in April 2025. Warner Bros. has given a sneak preview of this ambitious project, A Minecraft Movie, directed by Jared Hess (known for Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Thelma the Unicorn).
Jack Black’s portrayal of Steve, the famous video game character, is one of the highlights of the trailer, and hints at a film combining action and humor.
In addition to Jack Black, the cast includes Jason Momoa as Garrett Garrison “The Garbage Man”, Sebastian Eugene Hansen as Henry, Emma Myers as Natalie, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, and Jennifer Coolidge!
A Minecraft Movie, is scheduled for release on April 4, 2025.
