“The King of Deficits”: the PLQ plants François Legault while the Kings are in Quebec City

The fact that the Los Angeles Kings received a multi-million dollar subsidy to spend part of their training camp in Quebec City really got people talking.

Everyone has an opinion on the subject, but popular favor isn’t exactly on the government’s side on this one.

In recent months, François Legault has often been criticized for his handling of the Kings. But since the Kings are in town at the moment, those who have complaints about the government have an open path.

Of the lot? The PLQ.

Marc Tanguay, Leader of the Official Opposition, took the opportunity to publicly unveil a hockey jersey in Kings colors that is intended for the Prime Minister. You can see it as reported by Philip Authier, who covers politics.

As you can see from the sweater, Legault has been named the King of deficits. He’s also the team captain and his number is #11, to highlight the $11 billion deficit.

Marc Tanguay and Enrico Ciccone are featured in the photos published by the Liberal Party leader.

The Kings have received $7 million to spend a few days in Quebec. They will play two preparatory games in Quebec City.

Phillip Danault is one of the players involved. As a member of the Kings and a Québécois, he’ll be there to guide his teammates.

Note that tonight, the Bruins will be visiting the Centre Vidéotron. We can expect to see Patrice Bergeron honoured at this game, as he hails from Quebec City and played in Boston.

On Saturday, the Panthers will be in town.

Overtime

– What to watch for.

– 26 Tigers players earning less than the Astros reliever who gave them the win? Ouch. [MLB Passion]

– Of note.

– Interesting: Robin Lehner won’t be on the Golden Knights’ mass.

– Jason Demers said that.
