Prince Harry talks about meeting the Queen

Prince Harry has revealed some of the details of a private conversation he had last week with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Prince Harry paid a surprise visit to Elizabeth II last Thursday (April 14), hours before he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were to attend the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games held last weekend in the Netherlands.

Harry revealed the content of these discussions to the BBC.

“She had a lot of messages for Team UK, most of which I’ve already passed on,” the Duke of Sussex said.

“So it was great to see her. I’m sure she would have loved to be here if she could have.”

Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, visited Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles a week before her 96th birthday on April 21.

The trip marked one of the first face-to-face meetings between the couple and the queen since the Sussexes chose to live permanently in the United States.

Harry had returned home last summer for the dedication of a memorial to Princess Diana, while the trip marked Meghan Markle’s first visit to the UK since March 2020.

The couple had come under fire last month after choosing not to attend the memorial service for the first anniversary of the death of Harry’s grandfather Prince Philip.
