Eurovision winners return to Ukraine to fight

The members of Kalush Orchestra, winners of the Eurovision 2022 music contest, have returned to their country in the last few hours and will take up arms to defendUkraine in its war against Russia.

The six folk-rap musicians ofKalush Orchestrawere considered favorites to win the competition presented last Saturday inTurin,Italy, but theyonly had a few hours to savor their triumph.

The musicians had received special permission from the Ukrainian government to participate inthe competition, but were under strict orders to return home by Monday.

Under Ukrainian law, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country and are urged to join the military or support the war effort. This is what the six members ofKalush Orchestra did.

Kalush Orchestra won Eurovision with their song StefaniaThe band has just released a new video for the song.

The clip was shot in the war-torn towns of Borodyanka, Irpin, Buch and Hostomel, showing the reality of the conflict.

It shows a female soldier carrying children in destroyed cities, while the rapper Oleh Psiuk performs amidst destroyed buildings.

The film then shows soldiers reuniting some children with their loved ones, while another walks through a cemetery with tombstones.

The final scene of the clip features a little girl staring at the camera while brandishing a Molotov cocktail.
