A point a game for Lane Hutson: Renaud Lavoie believes in it
For the past few days, if not weeks, there’s been a lot of talk about Lane Hutson’s contract negotiations. Obviously, the American will become a restricted free agent on July 1, so there’s no press. In fact, according to the latest news, the negotiations are getting too emotional, so the people involved need to take a break. Elliotte Friedman said it yesterday and Darren Dreger said it again today on Early Trading.
Darren Dreger: Re Lane Hutson: This has been an emotionally charged situation; I think right now everybody is just trying to lower the temperature; the team…would like to extend him on full term; the player would push towards a 6 year term – Early Trading (10/7)

Obviously, both sides want to close the deal and there are still a few details to be finalized. The player’s camp would like a six-year contract. But with a view to the 2025-2026 season, the defenseman still has a contract, and his focus is on his play on the ice, not his contract. This summer, he’s been doing a lot of practice and trying to improve his shot, among other things [content-ads] As Renaud Lavoie told BPM Sports, he’s clearly confident in his shot this season, as in three preparatory games, he’s taken the most shots among defensemen (11). The journalist even went so far as to say that he believed in Hutson’s chances of reaching the point-per-game mark. In Montreal, for a defenseman to finish the season with at least one point per game, this hasn’t happened since 1986.
“I think Hutson is capable of going for a point per game this season!” A first since 1986 with the Habs?

You think Lane Hutson is going to have a tough second season like many players who had a good rookie season? Think again, the 48 is better than ever. And unlike last year, the left-hander will start the season on the first power play, which is another argument in his quest for points per game. spacer title=’Overtime’] – Who’s lucky?
