The insurance is being provided by Lloyds of London, a company that was contracted by the 23-year-old actress.

In the television show, Ugly Betty, Ferrera plays, Betty Suarez, who wears braces. 

Ferrera won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a television comedy at the 2007 Golden Globe Awards.  She is not the only actress to insure parts of herself.  Guitarist of the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, insured his fingers.
