Are Moisturizing Creams Safe?

A study published by the Journal of Investigative Dermatology showed that certain moisturizers caused cancer in mice exposed to ultraviolet rays.

These findings are being disputed by several cosmetics companies. One of the brands, Beiersdorf, the owner of Nivea and Eucerin, said that no incident with humans has been reported, and that the comparison between the skin of mice and of humans has not been established. 
 
Beiersdorf says that the adverse effects observed are simply the results of exposure to UVB radiation.
