Artic Monkeys Big Winners at the NME Awards
The reputed British magazine New Musical Express crowned the Arctic Monkeys on Thursday in London. The band earned the titles of Best British Group, Best New Group and Best Song for I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor.
The Sheffield group has enjoyed having their first two singles top the British charts. Their first disc is also the biggest seller in the history of the country, selling more than 360,000 copies in one week.
Kaiser Chiefs were the winners of Best Album, while Franz Ferdinand earned the title of Best Concert. Oasis won the prize for Best Video for The Importance of Being Idle.
Live8 organiser, Bob Geldof, was named Man of the Year.
