Avril Lavigne Apologises

The star was celebrating her 22nd birthday in Los Angeles last Tuesday when the incident occurred.  While leaving a nightclub with her husband, singer Deryck Whibley, the star spit at members of the paparazzi on her way to the limousine.

Lavigne, who later realised that her actions were not very ladylike, later said, "I’d like to sincerely apologise for my behaviour with the paparazzi."

She added, "It’s trying at best to deal with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offence to my fans."
