Beyonce Knowles a Favourite for BET Awards

The B-Day singer will be competing in six different categories for the awards ceremony.

The singer, who also starred in the film Dreamgirls, is up for prizes in the best R&B singer, best collaboration (with Jay-Z) and best duo (with Shakira) categories, among others.

Jennifer Hudson, Ciara, Akon, and Gnarls Barkley have all received three nominations.

The BET Awards will take place on June 26 in Los Angeles.  Actor Don Cheadle will be recognized for his humanitarian efforts, while Diana Ross will be given a Lifetime Achievement Award.
