According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Blanchett is taking the part of Elizabeth I in Elizabeth:  The Golden Age.

The actress will co-star with Clive Owen who play Sir Walter Raleigh in this epic drama.

The movie will be directed by Shekhar Kapur.
