Coldplay to Star on the Simpsons

The London musicians will be guest starring on an episode of The Simpsons, as confirmed by their spokesperson.

In the episode, when the Simpsons family patriarch, Homer, suddenly wins the lottery, he and his son, Bart, will hire Coldplay to give a private concert.

Over the course of the show’s past 21 years, several musical celebrities have guest starred on different Simpsons episodes. U2, Sting, Paul McCartney, Elton John, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash have each had their turn to participate on the show.

Coldplay’s appearance on The Simpsons will air on September 27.
