Corey Perry leaves the rink in a wheelchair
After two years with the Oilers, Corey Perry has found another team this summer: the Los Angeles Kings have signed the former Canadiens player. Los Angeles hopes Perry’s playoff success will propel the club to a first-round victory, but the forward’s regular-season debut is in jeopardy. Today, a blog covering Kings activities (Mayor’s Manor) announced an injury.

This injury, which occurs before the start of camp, seems quite serious, as Perry left the rink in a wheelchair.
Details aren’t 100% clear in the Mayor’s Manor article, but word is that the 40-year-old, who was skating with a few teammates at the Toyota Sports Performance Center, tripped and hit the boards. The Los Angeles Kings have not confirmed the injury; apparently, they will do so when the camps open [content-ads] Earlier this week, the newest member of the organization was spotted throwing a ball at the start of a Dodgers game. He signed with the Kings on July 1. His one-year contract will pay him $2 million for the 2025-2026 season.
