The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and Sir Paul McCartney all feature on an album of the 12.12.12 concert.

Performances from the event, held in New York last week, have been collected on a record – released digitally last night (18.12.12) – which will raise money for people in the Caribbean and US who were affected by Hurricane Sandy in October.

The album is available on iTunes through Columbia Records, with a physical release to follow next month.

The Robin Hood Relief Fund for hurricane relief will receive at least $6.50 from every sale.

Performances include Roger Waters featuring Eddie Vedder, Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, The Who, Billy Joel, Chris Martin with Michael Stipe, and Sir Paul.

Before his performance of ‘My City of Ruins’, Bruce Springsteen – a native of New Jersey, which was badly damaged by the storm – told the crowd: "This was a song I wrote for my adopted home town, Asbury Park, when it was struggling on hard times. For 25 years you could go to Asbury in the summer and there was no one on its beaches, no one on its boardwalk. Then over the past decade, thanks to the arts community moving in, thanks to the gay community, thanks to people who lived there and toughed it out for that whole quarter of a century, the town has had a renaissance.

"I pray that that characteristic remains along the Jersey Shore, it’s what makes it special. So tonight, this is a prayer for all our struggling brothers and sisters in New York and all along New Jersey."

A number of celebrities appeared on stage at the event including Adam Sandler, Kristen Stewart and Billy Crystal. The record had already been pre-ordered by over 40,000 people by the time it went on sale.
