50 Cent is not completely changing

Rapper 50 Cent reassures his fan base that he is not doing a complete 180.

Last week, rapper 50 Cent talked to MTV.co.uk  about moving away from hip hop and into more dance and uptempo music.

He explained what brought about this shift, "I went to a nightclub afterparty. The music they were playing before they were playing the music I created was more up-tempo, more dance. I wanted to make a song like that, so I went into the studio."

The G-unit founder added that "Because I’m travelling with my live band, I took the band with me and we sequenced it and recorded the actual record while I was out there. I did two other songs I had production for. I had been writing those songs for a while. So I finished them and recorded them."

50 Cent’s fans have nothing to worry about, though. The rapper says that new sound will only be part of his new album, Black Magic. He is not forgetting his roots that got him to where he is today.

He says, "I won’t allow myself to be placed in a box where I can only do one style, or do one kind of music. They should expect the unexpected on this one. If they can understand how I enjoy different genres of music and different styles; for the people who have various tastes in music, they’ll really like it."

The rapper launched Before I Self Destruct on November 9 last year. He does not know when  Black Magic will be released.
