“50 points isn’t that many”: Slafkovsky not satisfied with 23-24 production

Last season, positive comments about Juraj Slafkovsky came from everywhere.

Especially in the second half of the campaign.

After all, the young man played with unshakeable confidence and began to produce at a very interesting pace offensively. He even finished the season with 50 points, which is no mean feat considering it was only his second season in the NHL.

But Slaf is still hungry.

As he said in an interview with Slovak journalist Katarina Vilček (NHL.com), he wants to reach even higher levels in the next campaign, because he wants more.

By the way, he doesn’t seem to be 100% satisfied with his last season when you see him saying things like:

It’s only 50 points. It’s not that much. – Juraj Slafkovsky

“Only” 50 points, for a young player like him, is really worth mentioning.

I hope Slaf knows this, but his last season… He can really be proud of it.

After all, he was one of the only NHL players to finish the campaign with at least 20 goals, 30 assists and 150 body checks.

The kid’s part of an impressive list, and that’s something to talk about too:

Juraj Slafkovsky has always been confident.

This was noticed following his selection in the 2022 draft and is one of his strengths of character.

That said, he needs to build on his confidence to keep the momentum going, and if he does, he’ll be pleased with his performance because he had a huge impact when he was on the ice in the closing stages of the 23-24 season.

But knowing that he’s as motivated as ever should enable him to arrive at camp with some pretty clear objectives in mind. And at this level, it’s relevant to know that the idea of scoring 30 goals is on his mind.

Will he be able to reach his goal?

Overtime
