Since its construction for the 1976 Summer Olympics, the Olympic Stadium has been a visible anchor in Montreal’s east end.
However, the roof, among other structural problems, has marred its image, as have the astronomical costs incurred since its creation.
Clearly, according to many, the time had come to demolish the stadium and move on…

Premier Legault remains steadfast, however, saying the cost is worth it to restore this historic monument to its former glory.

Montrealers, as well as fans across Quebec, have been awaiting the decision on the future of the Olympic Stadium with interest, but the decision by the CAQ and the City of Montreal does not seem to be reaching a majority.
