Quebec filmmakers made quite an impression at the Toronto Film Festival.

Several Quebecois were hounoured during the Toronto International Film Festival, which came to a close on Saturday (September 19).

The award for the best Canadian feature film, along with a $15 000 prize, was given to filmmaker Alexandre Franchi for The Wild Hunt. Shot in Duchy of Bicolline, the film stars ___.

The best short film award went to Danse Macabre by Pedro Pires, who drew inspiration from Robert Lepage. Pires also received a cash award of $10 000.

The jury’s honorary mention award was given to Bernard Emond for La Donation, the third instalment of the trilogy that includes La Neuvaine and Contre toute espérance.

The public prize, which was the category Slumdog Millionaire swept last year, was awarded to the Lee Daniels film Precious.

The best Canadian film went to Cairo time by Toronto’s Ruba Nadda.
