A Better Understanding of H1N1

Researchers at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg are studying the influenza virus A (H1N1).

A team of researchers associated with the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg has succeeded in identifying the genetic sequence of the influenza virus A (H1N1).

They felt the strain of the virus in Canada is the same as that which caused 29 deaths in Mexico.

With this discovery, the scientific community can focus on finding a cure, and also why the cases in Canada have not resulted in death, contrary to Mexican cases.

So far, 165 diagnoses have been confirmed in Canada since mid-April.  In most cases, infections of the disease did not require hospitalization.
