The star will soon be releasing her latest album, as well as co-hosting the Teen Choice Awards. This year has been very hectic for the 26 year-old, and was also the year that her divorce from Nick Lachey became official. During her difficult times, Simpson decided to concentrate her time and energy on her music.
Simpson explained, "Working on this album, I didn’t really try for anything. I started recording about a year and a half ago. [The album] was supposed to come out a long time ago, but I missed my deadline and I didn’t feel confident."
The star recently finished filming the movie Employee of the Month. The project also helped her to keep her mind off of her worries. She added, "It was a hard time in my life, but it was great to be surrounded by laughter, and it was great to be in New Mexico."
Simpson’s new disc, A Public Affair, will be released on August 29. Employee of the Month is due in theatres on October 6.
