A daily salad helps shed pounds
Losing weight does not always mean depriving oneself or following a strict diet. According to Woman’s Day, a simple bowl of salad a day could do the trick.
Brian Zehetner is a registered dietician at Anytime Fitness in Hastings, Minnesota. He comments: "The main reason to eat salad is to help reduce the energy density of the diet."
He adds: "You can eat a huge amount of salad for a small amount of calories."
A salad can contain some nutrients your body needs like vitamins C and E, selenium, beta carotene and fibre. Three ounces of skinless chicken provides added protein.
Zehetner says eating a bowl of salad a day for one year can help you lose up to 30 pounds without making other major changes in food intake.
