According to People, Ledger’s sudden death was especially difficult for his good friend whom he starred with in the movie Brokeback Mountain.
Gyllenhaal is the godfather of Ledger’s two-year-old daughter, Matilda. He was devastated when he learned the news last week. One of the actor’s friends revealed, "Jake is taking this harder than most people."
Gyllenhaal’s co-stars on the set of Brothers also noticed his sadness. A source on the set explained that when Gyllenhaal learned the news, last Tuesday, he immediately left the set. However, he did return on Thursday to continue filming.
The same source added, "He was there, but he wasn’t with us. It was obviously a major trauma. These guys were very close."
